AAMCI Gives Back: Making Time to Serve What Matters Most

AAMCI Gives Back is AAMCI’s annual volunteer initiative, giving team members paid time to support the local organizations, people, and causes closest to their hearts.

At AAMCI, giving back is an ongoing part of how we connect with the communities around us. Through AAMCI Gives Back, team members receive dedicated paid volunteer time each year to support the organizations and causes that are meaningful to them personally.

Every AAMCI team member receives eight hours of Volunteer Time Off, or VTO, annually. That time creates room to step away from the workday and invest in a local need, whether that means helping at a food pantry, supporting a school, volunteering at a senior center, assisting a faith-based organization, lending a hand at a homeless shelter, or serving another nonprofit making a difference close to home.

What makes AAMCI Gives Back special is that the volunteer experience is not one-size-fits-all. Team members choose the organizations and opportunities that matter most to them. Some may spend time preparing or distributing food. Others may plant flowers at a school, help paint a community space, support older adults, or contribute their time to a local cause that has made a difference in their own lives. The shared purpose is simple: make time to show up for the communities we call home.

AAMCI first celebrated its annual AAMCI Gives Back Day in 2022, and the initiative has continued each year since. The story of AAMCI Gives Back is made up of many individual acts of service, each one reflecting a team member’s personal connection to a local organization or community need. This page will feature approved photos from AAMCI’s first annual effort, as well as a September 2024 volunteer project led by Karen Smith at The Larry Cox Senior Center.

For 2026, AAMCI is setting aside September and October for team members to use their volunteer time. Opening the initiative across two months gives people more flexibility to coordinate with their supervisors, maintain property coverage, and choose a meaningful opportunity that fits their local community. The eight available hours may be used as one full day or split into two four-hour volunteer opportunities, as approved through AAMCI’s normal scheduling process.

We cannot wait to share how the AAMCI team gets involved this year. Throughout the fall, check back for new photos, volunteer stories, and recognition of the organizations our team members are proud to support.
