Norris Gardens: A Renewed Home for Norris Seniors

AAMCI - Norris - After - 21

AAMCI Development, LLC completed a comprehensive rehabilitation that preserves 51 affordable homes while refreshing the spaces seniors call home.

For more than four decades, Norris Gardens has been part of the Norris, Tennessee community. Built in 1981, the 51-unit property provides affordable housing for older adults through a project-based Section 8 contract with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

AAMCI Development, LLC completed a $3.5 million rehabilitation of the property, creating a refreshed environment for current and future residents while preserving the affordability that has made Norris Gardens an important local resource.

The rehabilitation included renovated living spaces, enhanced community areas and amenities, energy-efficient improvements, and refreshed landscaping and exterior features. Together, those updates create a more modern, comfortable setting while respecting the property’s longstanding place in the community.

The project was made possible in part through a 2022 Low-Income Housing Tax Credit award from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency. Its completion reflects a continued commitment to preserving quality, affordable homes for seniors in Tennessee.

“We are thrilled to unveil the rejuvenated Norris Gardens, offering our residents a refreshed living experience. The rehabilitation project aligns with our mission of providing high-quality housing while fostering a strong sense of community.” – Deedra Burroughs, Member of AAMCI Development, LLC
